Bhubneshwar,Today i.e on 01.02.2025, a short while ago, Sri Abhay Kumar Nayak, SI of Police, Sukinda PS, Dist.-Jajpur has been apprehended by Odisha Vigilance while demanding and taking bribe of Rs.5,000/- from a Complainant to help him in a family dispute matter.
The accused SI, took Rs 1000/- ealrier and asked the complt to pay Rs 4000/- further, threatening to entangle him in a criminal case otherwise. Left with no option, the Complt. reported the matter to the Vigilance Authority. Accordingly, Vigilance Officials made the plan and trapped the accused SI, Sri Nayak today, while taking the demanded bribe money from complt. The entire bribe money has been recovered from the possession of accused Sri Nayak, SI and seized.
In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance PS Case No.02/2025 U/s-7PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered. Investigation is in progress against accused Sri Abhay Kumar Nayak, SI, Sukinda PS, Dist-Jajpur.
