Bhubaneswar. Odisha on 11th ranks in providing benefits of Credit Guarantee Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE), the central government’s ambitious scheme to promote micro, small and medium entrepreneurs. Under this scheme, Rs 14,558 crore has been provided as loan to startup entrepreneurs in the state. Till March 31, 2023, this loan has been given to 2,74,865 entrepreneurs of the state. With this, Rs 4,17,665 crore has been distributed among 70,25,480 entrepreneurs during this period across the country. The total share percentage of Odisha in the country is 3.91 percent.
This information was given at a credit outreach program organized by MSME-DFO Cuttack, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, here today. The event was organized at the Central Tool Room and Training Center (CTTC).
The program was inaugurated by PK Gupta IEDS, Joint Director & Head of Office, MSME-DFO, Cuttack. A total of 115 participants including 79 prospective and existing MSME entrepreneurs, 30 bank officials and 06 dignitaries and guests participated in the program apart from MSME-DFO officials.
During the inaugural session, Nitisha Mann, IES, MSME-DFO, Cuttack welcomed the participants and guests and also briefed about the objective of the programme. This was followed by SN Kar, Senior Manager, CTTC, Bhubaneswar, AC Aggarwal, Lead District Manager and PK Gupta, IEDS spoke on the occasion and urged the participants to take advantage of the program and interact with banks with their dream MSME projects. requested.
During this, Gupta called for bringing Odisha to the top-5 in terms of benefiting from this scheme. He directed the officers and banks to achieve this target by providing maximum benefits to the entrepreneurs.
It is noteworthy that according to a figure, there is a gap of about Rs 25 lakh crore between the total loan allocation target and allocation for MSMEs in the country.
Ms. Richa Chowdhary, Assistant Manager, CGTMSE, Mumbai who elaborated on the Credit Guarantee Scheme and its modalities available for loans up to Rs.5 crores for the MSME sector. During this, it was told that the officials of 10 banks like SBI, UCO Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Union Bank, Indian Bank, Canara Bank, PNB, ICICI Bank, HDFC Bank play their role in financing the MSME sector.
During the event, HDFC Bank, SBI and Bank of Baroda issued sanction letters to 11 entrepreneurs for MSME loans amounting to approximately Rs 3 crore. The inaugural session was followed by an open ended interactive session between the participants and bankers and a table discussion between potential/existing entrepreneurs and bankers with relevant projects. On this occasion DC Mishra, Subas Kumar Sahu, Sandeep Kumar, Shivanand Nayak, A. Mody (all Assistant Directors of MSME-DFO, Cuttack) have provided the roles of facilitators in liaison between the bank officials and MSME entrepreneurs.
